FGM Day 2026

International day of Zero Tolerance for FGM (Female Genital Mutilation) lasts a day.
But for us the fight goes on.

As we move closer to the 2030 goal of eradicating FGM/C requires more than awareness it demands continuous commitment, adequate investment, and strong community action. Protecting girls and women must remain a shared responsibility.

With 83% of Sierra Leoneans reported to have undergone FGM/C. Our government needs to step up and invest amd act.

We call upon the government to criminalise FGM/C. ECOWAS court of justice ruled last year that this gap violates the rights of girls.
